1.Take your key to your local locksmith or key-making retailer. Let them know how many keys you need. They will clamp the key blank onto the vice of the key making machine, trace around it and cut the metal to match the original.
2.Find your car title and take it to the dealer in order to get a new key with a chip. You must verify your car's VIN number in order to get a new key. It may take a few days to verify your information and get a key made.
3.Make simple copies of electronic chip keys to allow access to your car door. You will need to be sure to keep this new key separate from your car and other keys.
4.Make a spare key for more than a lockout. Keep copies on hand to replace badly bent or worn keys. Locksmiths can also make copies if your key breaks off in a lock. They can take the lock apart and make a copy of the key.
